CLUBRUN 8th May - Peaslake loop
  • To help keep the regular club runs going. A short loop to peaslake for a cheese straw or five.

     9am RP
    Graham

     9:30 Hampton gate
  • I'll be up for joining you and then stopping at Esher for a coffee and then a TT back to Putney, that's 50km for me which all I can do at the moment. If you want to ride but don't think you can manage a club run for a couple of weeks why not join me for the roll out to Esher and ride back with me.

My plan is to do this for a few weeks and then gradually increase distance as my fitness returns. For loads of reasons I can't do a full run at the moment but I'll be there and I'll be riding on Sunday.

    Count me in.
  • Nice one Ricky!

  • The left hairpin you're taking before Peaslake is a bit dodgy (off-camber gravel). If you go left at Pond Lane it's a smoother run in to Peaslake and about 500m less riding.

  • Sorry all, I have to pull out. Firstly, the missus went out last night and hit the sauce a bit too hard. Secondly, the boy has slept for a total of 4 hours.
  • If you no longer wish for me to be in the club any more I will completely understand.
  • Sorry to hear you won't be joining us. We'll pick up a cheese straw for you and put it in the post :)
  • Will be sad not to see and ride with you Sam.  Hope Mrs Sam had a good night though.

    Classic Missus...

Hope the lad is OK Sam.
  • Beautiful morning for it, enjoy the ride.
  • Rear mech fail. thanks Jay for helping me make the bike ridable and Dan for riding to the station with me. Hope the cheese straws were amazing!!!
  • Lovely short ride for me and the other slackers. Next time we'll roll a little further but the Giro stop was nice. Good to meet new faces and great to meet some older ones.

Graham, hope the bikes ok? What happened?
  • Thanks to Graham and Dov for organising/leading/bringing new riders etc. Really enjoyed my short ride in the group again . As Ricky says we will extend the slackers group  a bit more next week if similar route and turn at Cobham.
  • That was great!!  What club :-)

Ride took a detour at Ranmore for Box Hill and ice cream.  Thanks to Steve for the tractor pull up Box.

Remember kids, Campagnolo is Italian for "I'm pretty, but do not ride too far from home" :-p
  • Just saw on Instgrarm that it was Ultegra :-s
  • thant was just a bit of shit luck, the rear hanger sheared off. Luckily I have a spare. At home.

New chain and new spare hanger ordered roll on next weekend.

Am still in the kit in the garden working on my lines
  • Thank you everybody. It was great to head out in numbers again.

I'm really sorry that the mechanical scuppered your ride today Graham. I'm glad that it is all fixable.

We headed to Dynamo for Pizza and beer after the ride.

    See you all next week!

  • Was one of my best days ever on the bike; weather, new route and my legs all super on point.

    Company was OK too ;D
